It looks like maybe an Army uniform - American. What was his last name? Do you have his date of birth? Any idea when he immigrated?

In terms of determining exactly where he went after the war, well this has come to a standstill as the last records of him I can find so far are in Germany, where he was last seen by my family. But I persevere and still have much hope of finding him.
That photo is interesting for what is missing - there are no insignia, no ranks, no patches, no name tags. I'm curious to see what you discover!
